Duplex apartments

I grew up in the suburbs.   Basically everyone I knew had stairs in their home.  Even the ranches had stairs down to the basement.

I don't think I knew anyone personally who lived in an apartment besides my grandparents.

So who else does a kid know?  TV characters of course.

TV apartments were groovy (Family Affair & The Jeffersons), black & white (Honeymooners) or  had funny neighbors (I Love Lucy, One Day at a Time).  Know what they didn't have?  A second floor!

To me, if you take an elevator or stairs to get to someone's apartment and then there is another level inside - that is the Bombdiggidy of Fancyland.

So here it is, many decades later, I am older and wiser, and a Chicago 2-story co-op comes across my MLS screen and my heart skips a beat.   How fancy would it be to live here?!?!   

This co-op is on Lake Shore Drive just north of the Drake and Oak Street Beach.  You would be basically looking right out at the airshow.   It was owned by the Wrigley Family.  (Lots of chewing gum paid for this place.)  Here's the best part (after the fact that it is a duplex) - it just had a $3.5Million dollar price reduction.

Who wants me to represent them on this purchase?  I would be glad to.
